UCSB Library invites you to sign up for a free one and a half-hour Pochoir Stencil workshop led by Caroline Partamian. In this workshop, participants will learn how to create layered and textured prints using the pochoir (French for ‘stencil’) technique used in 19th century France, inspired by Trianon Press Collection. This method can be seen in the exhibition in works by William Blake, Ben Shahn, and the studio workshop of Pierre Crampe, and was also used by such artists as Picasso, Matisse, Cassatt, and Miro.

Workshop attendees are encouraged to bring their own image from which to work.

This event may be photographed or recorded.
