Art of Science
Artists, some say, are more right-brained, prone to feeling and imagination. Scientists, meanwhile, are more left-brained, valuing order and logic. Leonardo da Vinci shattered that theory. The left and right sides of our brains co-exist in marvelous, synergistic ways.
The pieces exhibited here are the 11 winners from the eleventh annual Art of Science competition at the University of California Santa Barbara. They tell the stories of technical innovation, pure discovery, and inspired creativity that emerge when art and science unfold together.
In keeping with our commitment to the creativity present in the intersection of art and science, the Museum is delighted to display the 2024 winners, through July 29th.
