The UCSB Library has merged its Reference Desk and Services Desk in order to offer a more convenient and efficient one-stop shop with longer hours for users seeking basic information and services.
The Reference Desk closed on September 14.
Staff at the Services Desk (located in the Paseo walkway) will be able to help users get started with research as well as assist with other services, including checking out and returning materials (books, laptops, keys) and Course Reserves; Interlibrary Loan; Library card sign-ups; guest computer logins; supplies; lost and found; and stacks and billing assistance.
For advanced research help, librarians are still accessible by chat, email or appointment. A subject librarian is assigned to every academic department on campus and can be contacted directly for help with subject-specific research questions. Research and course guides with useful resources compiled by our subject librarians are also available online.
Services Desk hours can be found on the Hours Page.
Feedback about the new merged desk can be directed to our online Suggestion Box.
