Some Library users have reported receiving "phishing" emails that seem to come from the UCSB Library. The subject line of the email reads "Library Access Renewal Notification." The body of the message warns that users will lose access to Library services if they do not renew their Library account.
These emails are not from the Library. If you receive such an email, do not click on any links (even if they appear to be for the Library website) and do not enter any personal information. Report the email as "spam" on UCSB's Information Security site and then delete the message immediately afterward. UCSB faculty, staff, and students who believe that their accounts have been compromised can reset their passwords by using the Identity Manager tool in the campus directory.
As with any personal information, you should never share your UCSB account information with anyone else. Please practice safe computing!
