I want to welcome all new and returning students. Even though we have to welcome you virtually this year, I want you to know that all of us in the Library are working hard to support you so that you have a productive fall under these less than ideal circumstances.
While the UCSB Library building is closed for now due to public health restrictions, you can still access our online and print collections, and you can still talk or chat virtually with librarians via Ask A Librarian or the chat feature on our webpages.
We are focusing this fall quarter on remote services that put students first. See our Library website banner for the latest information on our reopening planning.
If you have ideas on how the Library can help you during remote instruction, please share your suggestion.
We know that many students miss the community that came from seeing one another face-to-face at the Library. Please look out for our online events, such as our Pacific Views speaker series. You can join the Library Shoreline group to hear about new events.
As part of Fall Campus Welcome, we created a virtual escape room Escape the Library challenge. Have a bit of fun while you learn about the UCSB Library.
UC Santa Barbara is here to serve you, so please, let us know how we can best support you during these challenging times. We very much hope to be able to welcome you to campus and the Library in person soon.
