The Native American Studies Collection is located in the Ethnic and Gender Studies Collection on the 2nd floor. It contains materials related to the native peoples of the United States. These materials support the research needs of students pursuing the American Indian and Indigenous Studies minor, and are regularly used as a research collection across the disciplines.
While the strength of the collection is on native peoples of the U.S., it also includes materials on other indigenous peoples of the Americas. It houses materials related to a variety of topics related to Native Americans including anthropology, biography, history, folklore, literature, and religion. There are also materials on specific Indian nations, indigenous rights issues, cultural preservation, and other similar subjects. Because of the broad nature of Native American studies there are materials relevant to research in this area in other locations throughout the library.
