Purpose of the Collection
The purpose of the World Comics Collection is to bring together graphic narratives including bande dessinées, cartoneras, comic books, comic strips, cordeis, graphic novels, manga, manhwa, print cartoons, zines, etc. This circulating collection is worldwide and multilingual in scope and is comprised of traditional and non-traditional print formats.

Formats
- Traditional and non-traditional print formats are collected.
- Materials are purchased with a variety of funds, primarily in Humanities and Ethnic,Gender and Area studies.
- Secondary literature, including history and criticism of comics, is not within the scope of this collection and is kept in the circulating stacks or in Special Research Collections, primarily in the call number range PN6700-6790.
