    California Ethnic and Multicultural Archives
    Promoting Cultural Diversity

    Chancellor Henry T. YangThe California Ethnic and Multicultural Archives (CEMA), part of the Davidson Library at the University of California, Santa Barbara, is a collection of primary research materials that documents the cultural and political experiences of California's rich racial and ethnic diversity. {Chancellor Henry T. Yang}

    In my memorandum to the Campus Community of November, 1996, I reaffirmed UCSB's commitment to excellence and diversity. I remain confident that we share a common belief in the value of diversity in an intellectual community such as ours. UCSB will continue to strive toward the maintenance of a diverse academic recruitment of academically qualified students, and through the recruitment of outstanding faculty and staff.

    The CEMA program is a reflection of UCSB's commitment to diversity. We have a vision, shared by all the members of our community, of a world-class research and teaching university, built by that commitment to diversity and excellence.
